Welcome to the Sellhorn Heights Homeowners Association Website
Sellhorn Heights is located off Old Airport Road in New Bern, North Carolina
This lovely community consists of 100 single family homes in Sellhorn Heights and The Village at Sellhorn. They are situated in a very natural atmosphere with tall pine trees and other native vegetation. Many homes feature fenced-in backyards or screened-in back porches. In the front, many of the homes feature wide porches big enough for rocking chairs; a perfect way to spend a cool, summer evening.
Sellhorn Heights is less than four miles from historical downtown New Bern. The US Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point is less than 15 miles east on Route 70. In addition, we are ½ mile from Craven County’s Creekside Park where over 100 acres are devoted to 12 athletic fields, a large playground and swings are offered. Other amenities include a sand volley ball court, picnic shelters, restrooms, and walking trails. On the waterfront side there is also a playground, picnic shelter, walking trail to Brice's Creek, and canoe/kayak access and rentals.
We are within 1 ¼ miles of the Historic New Bern Civil War Battle field. The ground where nearly one third of the Battle of New Bern occurred is in near pristine condition. Unmarked by development or agriculture, the “redans” or trenches remain, as they were a century and a half ago. Mother Nature has been relatively kind to this site. No other battle site in America is so untouched since its battle day. You can literally walk in the footsteps of young Confederate and Union soldiers who were here on that fateful day: March 14, 1862.
Also, we are only 33 miles from the beaches of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast.
